Using Twitter for Marketing Your Business

Twitter has a unique microblogging system that sets it apart from other social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. But, the content you post is limited to 280 characters or less on the platform.

Don’t let that stop you, though. The character limit doesn’t limit the opportunities on the platform. In fact, this gives you more chances to create more content. And with that, you get to interact with your audience.

Twitter also gives you an option to stay up-to-date with the latest trends. Using Twitter for marketing your business means staying updated on the latest topics that are relevant to your target audience.

These things just show that kicking off a business on Twitter ensures you that you’re marketing your business already as soon as you sign up. And another good thing about it? It features a simple user interface that will allow for easier business profile management!

Now, let’s move on to how should you use Twitter for marketing your business…

Make a Unique Business Brand

Your first step on Twitter for marketing your business to establish a unique brand is to select the right username.

It’s better that you use your business name or a variation. Keep in mind to avoid punctuations in your username. You want users to search and type for your username easily.

The next step that you should make is your Twitter bio. Describe your brand, services, and products. This is where you can let your target audience know about your business and what you can offer.

You can also add a link to a website below your bio. Include the link of your business or blog. This way, users can easily access your website.

Make sure that you also have a unique and catchy profile and cover photos on your Twitter profile. This is important when you’re using Twitter for marketing your business. You can use an avatar or other visual materials that best represent your business.

Regularly Update Your Content

If you want to use Twitter for marketing your business, you should be ready to create good quality content. As I mentioned, it’s a fast-paced platform for sharing ideas. So, you better stay on track!

Your old tweets can easily be forgotten. At the same time, you can easily replace or reintroduce tweets to your followers. You also have the option to schedule your tweets. This is a great way to guarantee that you always have new content coming.

Aside from being mindful of the number of tweets that you have, you should also pay attention to their quality. Your tweets should be open for replies and conversations. This way, your tweets will seem like a two-way conversation.

A good tweet that encourages conversation will also lead to engagement. And when you engage your audience, you get more success in Twitter for marketing your business.

Another way is to retweet replies or tweets that mention or is relevant to your business. As much as possible, make it a point to reply to tweets within 24 hours. Always answer politely whether you receive criticism or not.

Use Different Media Types

Tweets that contain media content have higher chances to create interactions than those with just plain texts.

If you can, attach images to your tweets as much as possible. This will make users really view the tweet. There are also GIFs that are available on Twitter that you can use.

Twitter also allows you to record and post 140-second long videos.

When it comes to trending topics and hashtags, Twitter is really popular for that. In fact, almost every tweet on the platform has its own hashtag. And with this, it’s a great chance for you know what’s trending that involves your target audience.

By doing so, you get to stay up-to-date with topics that your target audience are most interested in.

When you’re about to join the trending topic or hashtag trend, make sure that you plan ahead. You should have your tweets apt that they’ll naturally blend well with trending topics such as special occasions.

Also, don’t forget to make a keyword for your business. You should have this keyword while you’re using Twitter for marketing your business. Make a hashtag of your own as well. This will help keep your tweets organized and it’s a great way to kick off your own trending topic!

Keeping updated with the latest trends is important when you’re using Twitter for marketing your business. This is because the platform goes with the trends. And keeping up with that will definitely get your business under the radar of your target audience.

Promote Your Twitter Content

Just like most social media platforms today, you have the option to place ads about your business on Twitter. These are called “Promoted Tweets” and “Promoted Accounts.”

If you want to use Twitter for marketing your business, you should not skip these paid promotions.

Promoted Accounts on Twitter will appear on the right-side column when you’re on the desktop version. When your account is there, this will draw attention and make it easy for users to find and follow you.

As for Promoted Tweets, these will appear on the timelines of the users whether they follow you or not. Twitter uses a link to your tweets for your ads. Take advantage of this by including your website link. This is a great opportunity to promote your site.
