Attraction Marketing Techniques – How to Sell Without Pitching.

Many online marketers try to make money by pitching their latest business opportunity.

They sell, sell, sell.

The problem with that approach is that while everyone loves to buy, nobody wants to be sold.  So these marketers are left out in the cold wondering why everyone else is making money and they aren’t.

In this blog post i am going to talk about some attraction marketing techniques to help you sell without pitching… basically to make money without really asking for the sale.

So let’s dive in.

Pitching Without Selling – How to Apply the Basics of Attraction Marketing Techniques

The fundamentals of attraction marketing techniques is about building up the foundation of trust with your audience.  You need to build a solid foundation before you can expect any type of dependable profit from your efforts.

I’m on a few emails lists where they pitch a new product every couple months.  I force myself to be on these lists so that I can watch what not to do.

Slow everything down.  Don’t lead with the pitch.

I’m going to show you how to use non-aggressive selling techniques to stop trying to sell to your audience, and instead make them naturally want to buy from you.

Now before I go on I want to make myself clear: I’m not against hard selling and aggressive pitches.

If you know  you have a product that will really benefit people, then sell it hard.  If you had just invented the cure for cancer you wouldn’t soft-sell it, would you?

But over the long haul, you shouldn’t have a lot of hard pitches.  Instead use some of these soft-selling, attraction marketing techniques to build better customers and get more income.

Give it Away, Give it Away, Give it Away Now…

Sorry… lol.  I love the band, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers… and the section heading made that too easy.  🙂

But what I really want to get across is that you actually get a lot more success (and sales) by giving a lot.

This blog is a perfect example.  Bren and I give a way a lot of content that most people would charge for.  Instead we give it away free to attract you, our readers, to our site.

The idea is that people feel that if you are giving away this much information, can you imagine what they have in the products they sell?

For example, we have been creating a lot of blog posts on SEO (Search Engine Optimization), and still have a lot planned.  The idea is that while most people sell this information, we believe that by providing it free people will want to come to our website.  Then we talk about the tools that we use, and talk about how they help us… and of course most of these resources come attached with an affiliate link.

The affiliate link is there so if people want to copy what we are doing to be successful, then we will make a commission off the sale.

It really is that easy.  If you will look throughout our blog, rarely do we pitch things.  Instead we will give recommendations, and tell our readers what we find works best.

Bearing it All – One of the Tough Attraction Marketing Techniques

This is where you share with your audience what you are trying, and then tell them what I am using regardless if we make a commission from the link.  We are sharing the links because we have used them and they work.

This is tough for people because it seems like you should be selling what you know, not giving it away.

But I can assure you if you give it all away, you can still sell it all later and make money… that is because people will pay for the convenience of having the information all in one spot.

When you reveal your entire processes, and the tools you use to get there, several things happen:

1. You’re Not Directly Selling

You are just showing people what you are using, and the results you get.  The results should speak for themselves.  It is up to the reader if they want to use your links to replicate your work.

2. Building Trust

Since you are sharing what you are doing, even if things don’t work as well as planned, then people are going to trust your recommendations.  Be open and honest, and people will appreciate it.

3. You Stand Out

Very few people are sharing a lot of information.  So when you do it, you’ll actually stand out amongst the sea of your competitors.  Not only does this build trust, but people will be return visitors to your site.

My Favorite Of the Attraction Marketing Techniques – The Resources Page

On our website, the Resources page gets a substantial amount of our traffic.  If you don’t have a page like this then you are missing out.

Even now we keep adding to the Resource page.  I recently saw some resource pages that seemed to go on forever and we bookmarked it because it was that useful!  That is what we want people to feel about our Resources page.

The Resources page is where you share any tools, links and resources that your visitors would find useful, preferably ones already mentioned on your site before (like when you are “Bearing It All”).

A Resources page is not aggressive at all.  In fact if done properly, people will think it is a goldmine of information because all the good stuff is conveniently in one spot.
