“Understanding the Real Power of Self Talk” written by Mike Marko.
Do you watch what you say to yourself, or others?
Do you talk about possibilities, success, and generally things in a positive fashion?
Or do you complain, and talk about how things are impossible or how life has dealt you a bad deal?
Today, I want to talk about the power of self talk, and how what you say CAN create your word as you speak your world into existence.
What is the Power of Self Talk
In this video, I talk about the power of self talk… and the experience I had a couple days ago.
What is Self Talk?
We talk to ourselves at approximately 150-300 words a minute, or in other words nearly 50,000 thoughts per day.
Even while you are reading these words, you are having a simultaneous dialog inside your head about what you think of this writing, while also being distracted by the most important items on today’s “to do” list, as well as other things that need to be attended to right away.
Did you know that our self talk becomes instructions to our subconscious. Our duty of our subconscious is to carry out the “orders” given to it by the conscious area of our mind. The subconscious is our own personal machine that works for us twenty hours a day, seven days a week.
Speak Your World Into Existence
We came into this world as empty vessels. We did not come predisposed to one belief, attitude or opinion about anything.
As children, we soak up data like a sponge. We receive input from well-intended parents, siblings, and other role models. From that, we start to form some concepts about who we are, areas we excel in, and where we need work.
By the time we reached six years of age, most of the concepts about ourselves have already been formed. Our concepts of ourselves weren’t formed by the words we heard from others. Instead, they were formed from how we interpreted those words with our own self talk.
It’s our self talk that creates our self-concept, and there is a one-to-one relationship between our self-concepts and our level of performance.
If we want to improve our level of performance or effectiveness in any area of our life, we need to improve our perception of ourselves. We improve our self-concept by deliberately creating a new language that describes our new desired result. Through repetition, our revised self talk provides new instructions to our subconscious. Our subconscious then immediately goes to work to fulfill these “new orders”.
Create the World You Want
You have the ability, the power behind your words, to create the world you want.
It’s in what you say… your self talk both quietly and out loud. Because when you say things out loud you are telling your subconscious what you want more of. Your subconscious is programmable, and whether what you say is something you want or not it will attract more of the same.
Instead practice saying “I AM” statements in the present tense. But these I AM statements should also be said in positive statements.
DO NOT SAY: “Get out of debt soon”
SAY: “I am financially free now”
DO NOT SAY: “Lose five pounds”
SAY: “I am physically fit and people are amazed at how fast I became physically fit”
Understand the power of self talk, and what it can do in your life. You can change your life using the words you use about yourself.
But it can be a struggle sometimes to reprogram yourself. Often we can use a little bit of extra help. That’s why I started using Subconscious Mind Tapping to help with changes in my life. In my opinion, Subconscious Mind Tapping is a training series you MUST GET if you want to have quick, lasting changes in your life.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Why continue the trend when there is help available?
Get the training today and start your path towards having a positive change in your life.
